++ Rough Script ++

FADE IN:

Int. Inside the house of McFly

Today was just another typical day in the life of Mr. McFly. But on this day, McFly would adventure out into the world, visiting his doctor, to ultimately discover why it is that he seems to have such extraordinary, uncontrollably routines.

CUT:

EXT. Lightly wooded area. McFly travels across the woods alone to visist his doctor.

At the Doctors office, McFly realizes that he has a strong case of O.C.D. (obsessive compulsive disorder). McFly is shocked to hear the news, simply because all he really desired in life was to fit in. The doctor explains to McFly that all he needs to do to fit in, is to “.. just ask normal McFly.”

FADE: outside the office - inside the office with McFly and the Doctor talking

Doctor
“Its appears that you have a strong case of Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder. A very strage case at that. If you desire to control you
abnormalities, just simply focus on acting normal. All you have to do to
become normal, is to just act normal McFly!”

CUT: Inside - Outside office

Adventuring out into the world, after leaving the doctors office, McFly begins to notice all of his OCD rituals. Seeing this, he starts to do all that he can to avoid serton situations entirely. One most notably, McFly can not fly past a single tree without circling it first.

CUT: on the ground - In the air

As McFly attempts to pay close attention to his rituals and avoiding them, he accidentally wonders off into a swampy marsh that doesn’t appear very safe.

CUT: Zoomed out view

Suddenly, as McFly flutters by, a toad hops out in front of him, viscously lashing his tung out, attempting to gobble McFly whole. The frightened little fly franticly swoops, and dodges the on-coming attacks, as what appears to be an increasing amount of predators begin to pursue.

McFly spots a light breaking through the eerie swamp fog, and begins to fly towards it. Quickly,

CUT: Long shot / side

McFly realizes that the only apparent way out requires him to fly past several trees, which doing so would trigger an uncontrollable amount of OCD routines. McFly suddenly musters up all the courage he can, and flies straight for the wooded area; dipping, diving and circling in an uncontrollable tangent. The preditors try to continue their pursuit, but their attacks don’t stand any chance against McFly’s completely unpredictable, and obscene maneuvers.

CUT: McFly flies into a medium shot

With his eyes wide open, McFly breaks past the very last tree. As he slows down to a stop, and gather himself, McFly realizes that he is free. Looking over his should first, McFly shortly turns around and starts to head toward his house, located in the middle of a beautiful grassy knoll.

CUT: Medium shot -

Now on his front step, McFly stairs deeply at his door, realizing he is likely to repeat in previously undesired routines, before ever entering his home. Appearing to struggle deeply with touching his own door knob, McFly swiftly grabs his door, pauses it open, then triumphantly enters his home without a single out-spirt.

Suddenly, right after the door closes behind him, the door swings swiftly open, as McFy performs a series of routine, pauses, then smile to the “camera”, realizing now how important it is to stay true with who you really are.

Questions to answer about your story:

1. What is the "goal" of the main character? Goal is physical or external - what is he/she is physically trying to do?

To gain over-all acceptance of ones self.

2. What is the "need" of the main character? What are his/her fatal internal flaws? Need is internal - the internal deficiency in the character that needs to be corrected

Needs to feel accepted. Feels diferent, and because of that, feels as though hes odd

3. What is the difficult choice the character is having to make? What is the central dilemma?

To fight to become/feel "normal" or accpet who he his. Accept his flaws.

4. Using the concept of Projection as described in the DVD, if you go inside the head of the character, what is the worst thing that can happen (face their worst fear)? What is the psychological obstacle?

To not be able to overcome his "flaws", and be forced into being "odd" or "different" his whole life. Mentaly he must fight to be diferent from himself. Diferent from who he is.

5. What/who is the antagonist? How does the antagonist embody the inner conflict of the protagonist?

The antagonists are the 'preditor' that are trying to eat the main characture. These preditors create an extreme obsticle by forceing the main characture into situations where he must come face-to-face with his "flaws"

6. What is the relationship between the antagonist and the protagonist?

The antagonist is mearly trying to fullfil his primel need of hunger. Where as the protagonist is simply attempting to travel from point -A- to point -B- while struggling with his inner demons for acceptance.

7. Describe the character arc - the need drives the story - can't get the goal because of inner conflict - character must overcome internal problem before they get the goal. You have to hit bottom before coming back up.

The main characture tries to mearly fit in. He struggles to be someone he is not in order to feel acceptance. But, as he fights with his inner conflict, the physical world presants a much more dangerouse obsticle, which causes the main characture to almost "give-up" on his inner sturggles in order to save his life.

8. What is the climax of your story?

The climax is when the main characture becomes attacked.

9. Describe the resolution? The resolution comes after the BIG choice has been made - it is the aftermath.

The main characture accepts who he is, in order to escape his attackers. In doing so he realizes the importance of simply being who he is.

10. The theme is how they resolve the dilemma. What is the theme of your story?

The theme is the idea that.."Be who you are, and not who others say you should be"

3 The toad begins to hunt the fly for dinner

4 McFly tries to get Away, but it must circle a specific trees 3 times
Before it can pass it

5 The toad whips out its tung to catch McFly, but keeps nearly missing as McFly
Uncontrollably spins in circles.

6 Just as the chase escalades, the egger toad inexpertly snags its tung on a tree branch,
Suspending him over a cliff.

7 McFly, nearly escapes, as two human onlookers comment on the spectacle they’ve just

1.)What did you find to be the most valuable things you learned in this class?

Welll first of all i can now read and write HTML and Java script pretty well. Secondly, I now have a new found love for web developement. So I'd say that was a plus

2.)Which assignment(s) did you find to be the most valuable?

Well i would easly say it was the portfolio that we created earlier in the year. That is something i will keep forever. But i cant say the same for the other assignments that we've done this year.

3.)Would you eliminate or replace an exercise or assignment?

I would have to say the NetArt for sure.. It was fun in a "i never want to do that again" kind of way, but I'd never like to do that again
